Men know that you are mine by birth:
My nest,  my refuge,  and my hearth,
My mother,  native land,  dear earth!
Sever soul and body??  Death but can.
O Azerbaijan,  my Azerbaijan!

Fortress at Geyazan Mountain

The fortress is located at the north-east bottom of the Geyazan Mountain, the symbol of Gazakh region. The fortress rests against the steepy side of the mountain and has wide walls made from local stones. There are seven towers on the walls and people call the fortress "Yeddiburchlu Gala" (7-tower Fortress). The entrance to the fortress, i.e. its gate is situated between two towers in the south. The walls and some towers are relatively well preserved until today. The remains of building with different purposes and water collecting installations are found inside the fortress. According to specialists the fortress was erected in the early Middle Ages.
