Men know that you are mine by birth:
My nest,  my refuge,  and my hearth,
My mother,  native land,  dear earth!
Sever soul and body??  Death but can.
O Azerbaijan,  my Azerbaijan!

Albanian temple at Avey Mountain

The temple is erected on the top of Avey Mountain. It is a big two-room building. In the north the ceiling is completed with the arch-wise cupola and in the south with the cupola. The roof is covered with big limestones cut in tile-shape. According to the excavated materials Avey temple existed in V-VII centuries and was built probably before that.

Graves with ornamented limestones are discovered in the yard of the temple. Construction of the temple in such an area shows its connection with the features inherent to Albanian architecture.

In specialists' opinion, Avey temple is erected at the place of "Moon temple", which was situated at the mountain once.
