Men know that you
are mine by birth:
My nest, my refuge, and my hearth,
My mother, native land, dear earth!
Sever soul and body?? Death but can.
O Azerbaijan, my Azerbaijan! Samed Vurgun
The hamam (bath) is constructed in the late XIX
century. It is built by Israfil Agha's order according to
architect Muzaffar Huseynov's design.
The structure of this big hamam (30x20m) is divided
into two parts: the two-cupol part connected with a hall
typical of traditional Azeri and Eastern baths and the
second part with specials booths that meet modern
requirements. Small shops are situated on the both sides of
a common entrance facade of the bath protruding to the
street. Combining both Eastern and European features in its
layout, this building is rare found in other regions of
Azerbaijan.
